Fearless

Watched Fearless today
Goodness, gone are the days when going to the cinema was a pleasure.
Now its long lines of people, haggling with the poor ticketing fellas for the bestest seats and nervously tapping ur foot as you watch the multiple overhead-screens turn from Available to Selling Fast to Sold Out...

Soraight movie la...
Heard it was good, and come on man, its Wong Fei Hong so must watch just for that reason alone...Also since its his last movie (or so i've been told)
The choreography of the fight scenes were good, and i like cause wasn't bloody bloody type...
Disappointed with the last quarter though, and thought the ending was *pfftt*

I would be happier with a stereotyped ending; the foreigners were gonna come take over the village, kick everyone out or turn them into slaves, but one man (Huo Yuanjia) can save them in a winner takes all battle to the death...He refuses but deep from within him, he feels his dead mother and daughter would have wanted him to save the village.All the while the blind girl is planting padi in a straight line saying she can see things in her heart...He is inspired by her straight lined padi, fights the big arrogant kung-fu fighting ang mo with the horrendous Chinese accent, winning- getting back his glory and saving the village. The blind girl is so happy and cries magic tears and she miraculously gets her sight back (20/20), she marries Huo Yuanjia and the movie closes with him teaching his daughter (why must be son?!) his martial arts...

Yeah man, much better ending than watching him do his wushu through the "eyes" of a blind girl...

I'm going back to the island tomorrow...
