Crash Boom Bang

Mom: Wake up

Me: What

Mom: Someone smashed your car

Me: What?! But there's nothing to steal!

Mom: I mean, someone smashed into your car.

Me: Araaaaaahghhhhhhhhhhgrmmmmmphhhh!

My baby got hurt last night.

Technically 4am today.

Eventually it was revealed to be one of my neighbours, who accidentally banged into my car while she was parking.

Oh sedih. It looks something like this -

Oh well. My family very suay.

Less than a month ago, some drunk driver banged into a car that banged into my mom's car and drove off.

Now this.

Time to buy number.

You like?

I've yet to meet someone that can honestly say they don't like this song...

Even though its a super teenie bopper song, it can be enjoyed by all ages.

Road Trip : Destination Penang

I was looking forward to the getaway for the longest time.
What started as a suggestion 2months ago, became a 'mini'-reunion', and 16 of us Graduates of 2007/08 met up in Penang.

I don't know why I anticipated it so much, not to say i'm that bogged down with work but there is a bogging down-ness of sorts, and a road trip is just the cure I needed.

Since Abang Kindaichi only uses his new car to go work, home, home, work and One Utama, we thought its about time to test his baby, and what better way than to drive to Penang?

Troy looking at his baby during a pit stop.

Leaving early in the morning, we arrived in Ipoh by 8.30 to have a yummy breakfast. And we weren't disappointed. Jet took us to some place called Tasek and we makan at a typical coffee shop that serves Ipoh white coffee at reasonable prices.

Ipoh-ites Cheryl and Kian had never eaten in Tasek area before

We continued our journey and arrived in the familiar area of Sg. Dua and USM.
Ahhhh.. Its so good to be back.

8-6-5 kindly let us rest and freshen up before our food hunt

The rest of the day was spent driving around, stopping according to our whim and fancy.

Happinessssssss!

When I was first typing this entry, I had problems transferring the pics from my camera to my laptop. Therefore the best way to show you what a good time we had was using my great drawing skills...

=)

Yes, we did all that and more.

We girls (7 of us) stayed over at Bt. Feringghi and just when we were about to drift off to sleep, just when we were on the border of lala land, someone said something and suddenly all the girls were wide awake and gathered together on 2 joined beds.

Yup - girl talk to the max. But it was great. After several surprising updates and some follow up on previous matters, we finally called it a 'night' at 4.30am.

To get up again at 7am for church.

I love SNGH, I love the people of SNGH to be more exact. They welcomed us back, and it felt as if we never left - the warmth and sincerity. Sigh. Rindu gila. If only we had Li Yee with us it would be complete.

Alas, we had to leave by 5 but it was ok, cause we had dinner in Ipoh where we met up with Cikgu Tzyy Ling at Nam Kew, the bomb seafood and chicken wings.

Drool.... Seriously. Yummy kau kau.

What a wonderful weekend.

Crush

I was one of the 7 thousand crammed in the Sunway Ampitheater.
Average age there: 15years old
7000 x 15year olds = High pitched, uncontrollable chaos!

All for the runner up of American Idol Season 7

It was pretty good. Obviously I wasn't as, erm, out of my senses as most of the fans, but i was impressed with his vocals and David A. has come a long way.

The only downside was, "Booooo!" and two thumbs down to the organizers, Sony and Digi. The genius's went and oversold/over distributed tickets. I guess they underestimated the power of the Malaysian tweens.

It was supposed to start at 3pm, but when we arrived at 2.45pm the gate leading to the Sunway Ampitheater was closed, saying the venue is full. There was still about 150 or more people waiting outside, and some had lined up 1/2 hour prior to the gates being closed. Obviously a combination of unhappy tweens and their tired parents made the situation ugly, the bozo guards not being clear - "You might get in, or you might not. Just wait."

After much pushing, shouting and nastiness that lasted longer than it should (remember there were young kids being squashed too), finally they opened the gate a little and allowed us to trickle in.

Greedy organizers. You disgust me.

Ku Mohon

For the first time I was sad when a contestant was eliminated from One In A Million.

Especially since his song for that night was the best I've ever heard him sing (during rehearsal I had goosebumps)

He told me his song was a plea/prayer to God and it was Good Friday. He has a good voice but he doesn't express songs well. This time though, it was as if he felt the song, and the meaning came through in his voice.

I know its no big deal, but it is a deal to me that he included "O Lord, give me strength Lord" in the song. Malaysia is so iffy about these things, that something perfectly normal in elsewhere is something that cause ears to prick up here. Silly really.

Oh well - See ya Simon. All the best.

By the way

.
Did you actually remember that its your friend's birthday,

or did Facebook remind you?

Did you really mean to wish the person,

or is it just the thing to do?

And if the latter, then what's the point...

Have we gotten to the age where we can express the same feeling in a generic wish on a FB page, as a deliberate phone call or meet up where more effort is required than a few keystrokes and a mouse click.

People you could, but don't see 365days a year, leave you a 3 word message; does that mean anything? Or is it just what it is.

Has a note on a "wall" become the new sms, which was the new phone call, which was the new snail mail card, which was the new personal greeting.

Hmmmm....

AI

Over the past 3years i have not been able to follow American Idol. Reason being in local uni, the majority will be hooked on AF not AI. Take a walk down to the cafe or mamak on a Saturday night and everyone's glued to "menuju puncak, gemilang cahaya..."

The seasons where Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks and David Cook were the winners, I was totally out of it. Except of course when David Archuleta sang Imagine.

Now that I'm home I've been able to follow Season 8. I didn't know they had such a big stage now, Randy has lost weight and I don't like the new jugde Kara.

Last night the contestants chose songs from "The Year You Were Born".

Its fun cause you don't really know when a song was released, and since most of the contestants are born in the 80's the songs are from the same time I was born.

One of the songs that stood out for me was by the youngest contestant, Allison, who sang Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me.

This song I first heard back in 2005, and will now forever be to me the song that best summarizes the word IRONY.

Still its a good song, which holds much truth in its lyrics.

And its perfect for days where you just wanna wallow.

W: What colour are your eyes?

Me: Erm, kinda hazel-ish

W: Really? They look more like...

...tree bark

Love is in the air

"Spring is the end of winter, and seen as a time of growth, renewal, of new life being born. The term is also used more generally as a metaphor for the start of better times." Wikipedia

Flowers aren't the only thing that blooms around this time.

Love seems to be in the air.

Within the span of a week 4 different friends of mine have entered into relationships.

And I suspect a few more to come.
