American Idol Finals

I'm rooting for Kris.
Not because I think he's that great - cause I think Adam is overrated.
Many are impressed whith how he's made the songs his own, and claim he can sing anything, but I beg to differ.

To me if you're supposed to sing 'country' then the song should still sound like a 'country' song, and have a resemblance of the genre. Making a 'country' song a 'rock' song completely defeats the purpose. Doesn't show flexibility, but the opposite.

This season none of the finalists gave me any reason to fall in love with them.
Neither of them give me goosebumps when I watch them performance.
They were all pretty 'so-so'.
One of the more forgetable seasons.

But i feel Kris is more talented than the two.

Movies

1. Star Trek

Enjoyed it overall, but hated two things
1. The young Capt. Kirk's All American Hero attitude. Felt it was too OTT.
2. How Uhura's character was so pathetic. They just needed a hot female in and her role was to cause my eyes to roll. Seriously, what did she contribute to the show? Bleh.

2. Wolverine

Loved it but was not satisfied because it wasn't ENOUGH!
Wish they had few more scenes where the other mutants powers could be shown.
Zero and Wade were yummy, but Wolverine was.... butt naked! =p

3. Angels and Demons

Most difficult to watch because I've read the book and therefore cannot help but be conscious of the differences in the storyline.
Like,
Why was Vittoria's lab partner not her father?
Why did they change the final ambigram?
Why did they leave out certain characters?
Why was the canister's countdown not in numerical form?
Why was the 4th cardinal's fate different?
Why was the assassin good looking? (especially in specs)

Why, why, why?

Next on the list - 17 Again

=p

7 sues

Excerpt from Wikipedia on the Breaststroke :
"It is the most popular recreational style due to its stability and the ability to keep the head out of the water a large portion of the time."

Hmmm... Too bad I never knew that the stroke actually involved putting your head in the water. I thought it was optional, and all these years, i've been swimming with my head above the water.

Yes, those reaading who know how to do the breaststroke properly or went for lessons will find it very strange, and 'incredible' that i manage to swim that way, considering its so much more difficult and tiring. You'll see my head bob along the whole length of the pool. I suspect the lifeguards have been laughing at me all this while.

Thanks to the coaching of Lee-Su-Yee over the past couple of months, I finally managed to swim properly for the first time. Woot woot!

I finally did : up-down-stroke-up-down-stroke-up-down-stroke
Instead of : up-stroke-down-stroke-stroke-up-stroke-stroke-stroke-down-down-stroke
Or worse the: up-stroke-up-stroke-up-stroke-up-stroke

Happiness!

In June I wanna learn how to 'freestyle' properly.

Allure

J: Maybe she's been crying all night long leh?
Me: Hmmm.. Reminds me of a song. Whats that song..
J: What song?
Me: I know the words are something like, "tears on my pillow, tears cause an inferno"...
J: Wah - cause an inferno? Eternal Flame...
Me: No.. I'm pretty sure its some inferno thing. I'll google it.

After forgetting for several days, i dedicate the song ALL CRIED OUT to a friend of mine who's going through heartbreak.

Hang in there sista! What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Oh mommy....

Head knowledge is nothing. Knowing something still doesn't stop you from getting the shock of your life when told something you already know.

Like, technically
1. I am of 'marriageable age'
2. I am of 'birth giving' age
3. Many others my age or younger have done 1 and/or 2.

Yeah yeah yeah, know all that.

Doesn't matter. Was still a 'wow, seriously?' moment when recently 2 coursemates of mine sent these picture updates.

Last year we were sitting through the same lectures, finishing up assignments, walking to class...

Now these two are mommies!

Sandrika's 4month old baby boy

Feel So Cheated

@#$%!*&!!!

I'm so disappointed with PTPTN

Way back in 2005, my first year in USM for my degree, I took a student loan.
Total loan over the 3years = RM19,500

I recently got a letter asking me to start my repayments, so when I finally did, I got the shock of my life.

I (and everyone else who took the full loan) am being charged Rm50 EACH MONTH for "Kos Pentadbiran", which is freakin a lot. Hello?!?!

This means I am paying an additional RM600 every YEAR! Thats crazy...

These were things that way back in 2005, at the point where I was in the hall with thousands of other students, did not cross my mind, nor did I actually have a choice.

Why I am disappointed is cause these loans are intended for students who can't afford to pay for their education, and it turns out PTPTN is actually making so much money out of us? What the hell man.

In 2007 the intake for IPTAs were 190,265. Now imagine one batch of IPTA students, where most did take the loan.

150,000 students x RM600 = RM90,000,000 a year

I am not a 'financial minded' person, but if this is the case I'm wondering maybe its better if I took a bank loan to pay off my PTPTN student loan one shot. Might work out cheaper. Someone told me the 'Kos Pentadbiran' is the interest. Have to do some research.

First thing I gotta do is make a trip down to PTPTN and find out exactly what's going on.

Anyone wanna follow me or have any advice?

This post is for others like me who have taken the loan and didn't realise, or those thinking about taking a PTPTN student loan in the coming 2009 intake.
