Song of the Month

M I K A

Have you heard of this guy? Mathew T. was the one that intro'd me to one of his songs which i've fallen for.
Its called :

Big Girl (You are Beautiful)

Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) Lyrics

For me and any girl out there who doesn't believe she's attractive or feels down cause of size, give yourself a dose of Mika and pay attention to the lines :

You take your skinny girl
I feel like I'm gonna die
'Cause a real woman needs a real man, here's why
You take your girl and multiply her by four
Now a whole lot of woman needs a whole lot more

Its just a really funny song, although it could be sarcasm, i believe that its not.
Cracks me up all the time.
Also has a funky, shoulder-shaking-feet-taping upbeat tune.

Most importantly its a reminder that not all guys are into sticks, woo hoo!

I will follow you.... (if the price is right)

For a week now, i've got a glimpse of what i'll be facing once i graduate.

The horrible, life sucking, soul draining working world. *psycho music*

As a short term temp. staff/kooli, i've been going to the DiGi hq in Shah Alam every morning for 10am. DiGi is rewarding their staff by treating them to some pampering, so they transformed a big hall into a spa.
What's my role there? I sit at 'reception' all day and take down bookings for body massages, foot reflexology, manicures and pedicures. Sound alright doesn't it...

I'm working ten hour days, 10am-8pm, and when i get home its near nine. So all i do is just crash onto the couch and usually i'm half asleep by 11 latest. Up again the next day at 7.30am and the whole cycle repeats itself. No energy to do anything else.

Urgh.

I'm only doing it for the money. Initailly, it was for church camp fees, RM150. May not seem like much, but didn't wanna ask parents since, one, i can get the $ myself and two, they wont be complaining that I'm just sitting around all day doing nothing.

Now i get to the Human Relations part.
When things are given out free, the ugly side of people can really be seen.
Since i deal with the registration, all those who want the spa stuff must come to me to sign up. Early last week, all the slots for the body massage were filled up, obviously cause one costs rm160 outside. SO that means many didn't get a slot and started la the complaints.
Not fair la. Tak puas la. Insisting they're entitled la.

Ish.

There are some people, that due to their overwhelmingly cheap nature, we labeled them the cheapers. These people are the ones that obviously can afford it outside, yet come daily to check and see if anyone canceled, threatens to complain to the Digi boss and then sits on couch staring at our table waiting for the 15minue grace period to end before pouncing on us demanding the slot.

Cheapers.

Of course we b*tch about them as soon as they walk away.

Some people are really lovely though, and are polite, nice, understanding. For THEM i am willing to try my best to get an empty slot, or inform them if there's a cancellation, because i feel they deserve it. Actually, i'm very powerful wan...We have more power than you know.

The moral of the story is this:

Be nice to the small fries, for they will be nice to you in return.

*PS: Mr Beautiful don't you dare not bring me back something, even if its just a leaf. They're free!*

Lion City

Time has flown, and in that time this is what i did.

Last last weekend, went up to Cameron Highlands for a day trip with Jee Lee.
Met the Navigators of NUS, and i must say, i find that bunch of people to be very unique.

Then was my trip to Singapore.
The trip had only one purpose, and that was to watch the Phantom, everything else was unimportant.
It was a wonderful night.
The singing was perfect, and i mean perfect! The high notes were wow!

The masked man stole the show, of course. His voice is super powderful, really amazing.

If only he hadn't killed anyone then i'd have been on his side.

Coincidentally, that night the Phantom himself was signing cd's so we went in search of him and Jee Lee behaved like a stalker snapping photo's of him like mad.

He looked so normal.

The rest of the time in Singapore was spent doing normal stuff like chilling with Ronald, and snapping photos of things i felt couldn't be found back home.

Alas, the conversion rate didnt allow for much spending, however....I got two items of clothing that i felt i just had to get. =p

Am wondering though, what the heck is a naked light? Seriously?

But the thing i was most excited to see in Singapore would most probably be this;
=p

Music of the Night

The time has finally come. Today i'll be travelling down to Singapore to watch :

Thunggggg....Thung thung thung thung, Thungggggg......!

Was convinced to go watch it after hearing great reviews from some friends. Am pretty excited- the last time i watched something i considered fantabulastic was Riverdance, and it'll take alot to top that experience.

Costing me, an unemployed student a small bomb though.
Ticket = RM220 (S$95)
Bus = RM60 (Return)

So, thats almost RM300 just on the ticket and transport there...Not even including price of MRT/bus/everything else...Thank goodness managed to get a place to stay FOC, or else that would be another headache and more money flying away.

But! I shall not think too much of the money, and just focus on having a great holiday. After this, i'll be staying home 24/7 since thats the cheapest thing to do. Unless, of course, anyone would like to take me out and belanja me- i wont say no* to that... *Terms and Conditions apply*

I'll be coming back on Thursday. So till then:

Think of me, think of me fondly,
When we've said goodbye.
Remember me once in a while -
Please promise me you'll try.
When you find that, once again,
You long to take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment,
Spare a thought for me.

**Coincidentally, this time one year ago i was at the same place i'm gonna be at tomorrow. Amazing how time terbangs man.So much has changed in a year, and so much still stays the same...**

Was she his lobster?

Earlier i caught an old re-re-re-rerun of Friends. It was an episode where Ross sends Rachel an invite to his wedding, and they both have flashbacks remembering the times they had together.

Posted by Picasa

I dont even remember where i stopped watching.
The series finished so long ago, yet I have no idea if they end up together!

Did they? If yes/no, why?

**PHOEBE: C'mon you guys. It's a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life. You know what, you can actually see old lobster couples walkin' around their tank, ya know, holding claws...**

Insecurities

There once was a girl who looked out the window
She saw the beautiful flowers growing below
The bright blue skies, the lush green soft grass
And more treasures she saw as she let the time pass

She ran out skipping and jumping with glee
Stopping to peer at a snail and a tree
Bumble bees buzzing, collecting their food
Oh if only each day she could be in this mood!

She suddenly stopped when she felt It was there
Surprised that It gave her an unpleasant scare
Never did she know this about her own being
Abruptly she turned and ran back fleeing

Locked and alone in her room she's safe
Though sometimes creeps to the mirror to face
The ugly scar that runs along down her cheek
Wishing, O wishing that she wasn't so weak

Yet what does she do about what she knows
Remains in the quiet, obliging It as It grows
The cat's dead, but in her mind she pretended
Believing the new to be the old she befriended

The girl who sits and looks out the window
Is afraid of moving in case she must show
Her scar to the World that cannot understand
Why the scar was put there by her own hand.
