End of Semester 1, Year 3

Question 6. Discuss how the proliferation of technology in Huzir Sulaiman's play "Atomic Jaya" can be used as an instance of a disintegrative postmodern subjectivity.

Dont anyone ever dare say that my course is just a breeze okay...!
HXE 305- Malaysian Literature in English , Friday 3pm, was not only my last paper, but one of the last papers of the whole exam period. I think my Uni hates my course, cause almost each semester we get the last day. Bleh.

Celebrated freedom with a TGIF RM39.90 dinner, way over my budget but what the heck la. Supposed to have gone with 3 aunties, that stood us up last minute due to the rain. Hurmph. Watched a brainless movie too, Balls of Fury - people, dont bother. There was some funny gems but overall, watching Shoot Em Up was WAY more entertaining.

Gotta pack up today. Have to box everything up for the one month break. Gah. I hate packing.

Monday is PKA Family Camp! Can't wait, after months of planning its finally coming. Looking forward to Che Foo, the last time i was there way TLC YF camp in 2004. It'll be a good place to get away and dream.

After camp, will be having my CF exco planning for next semester, so i'll only actually get home around the 26th. I'll be spending the 24th up there, yeah. Its not a biggie cause, i've had crappy days in the past and so it's not really gonna matter much anymore.

Life, oh life... Why art thou so complicated?

**Weng Soon, when i get back i'm gonna raid your computer for House okay, dont you dare stop me this time.**

Walk on

Kuala Lumpur: The people should reject street demonstrations and effect any change through polls.

So stupid. The whole POINT of the peaceful walk is because the public has no more faith in the electoral process. Dead people who can vote, legitimate names appearing to vote in other areas of the country. Even my registration to be a voter way back on the 5th of July still hasn't gone through, they emailed me saying still being processed.

For a country that can send people into space and is so advanced, it sure does seem to take an awfully long time to process my registration...

Yet, in a way...

I am glad i am not home.

Distance makes it impossible for me to participate.

And if i were home and dont go, i would be ashamed.

There aren't many things I take the trouble to pray for, but i am praying for this.

Gah!

1. Ate at Wong Kok today, and the same Set A that i ordered just last Friday has now gone up by RM2!!! Wah....I noticed everything on the menu had gone up by 2 bucks, and i think thats A LOT... I know prices of flour has gone up but still. Even 'ling teh' at MC is RM1.20 . Sigh.

2. Read this in the Star page W44 :

Sexy walk could be misleading message, says study
Paris - A woman who walks with a seductive sway of the hips is unlikely to be ovulating, a finding that sheds light on the complex sexual signals women give men.

Having a less sexy walk at the time of ovulation gives a woman evolutionary advantage: she can hide her fertile period from an undesirable man who might want to take advantage of her at the time.

???

Why on earth is there a study like this in the first place, i cannot for the life of me understand how people get funding to conduct these kinds of studies.

So for however much money it took, the conclusion is this: Women! Walk with a sexy sway to deter undesirable men!

-_-

Anyone else find something odd with that...

How much you wanna bet the team is lead by a man.

=p

New Look

Thanks, Abang Kindaichi !

A gift

On Monday, I typed out something to be uploaded the next time I went online. It was about me feeling obsolete. Yup, like cassette tapes. About me understanding that I no longer have any purpose in certain lives, and accepting the Nature of it. Basically, it was a semi-depressing entry.

Then on Tuesday, I was taken by surprised when i was suddenly given a very early birthday present from a good friend. He insisted i open it there and then, my protests of wanting to wait fell on deaf ears, and when i opened the prettily wrapped gift, i was so touched by the thoughtful present inside.
I loved it.

I was so touched for several reasons, but i think mostly it was the thoughtfulness of it all.
My friend didn't know, but it came at a time where i needed 'it'. It made me feel like i had drank several bottles of butterbeer, or a mug of warm Milo on a rainy day.

So thank you Mr. Shut-Up-Your-Face, for the Gift you gave to a Normal Mama, that you didn't even know you were giving.

Scary

The more you get to know someone,

the more you realize you don't know them.
