3/4 Saturday's

Here came another bride!

Yup, a USM senior of mine got married today- Chor Yan to David Lim. Her service was held in the E&O Hotel, beautiful place and the ceremony was wonderful.

During the drive there it occurred to me its my 3rd wedding in a month! Wah-lau-eh...I've never been to so many in such a short time span, usually its one a year max. But as my friend pointed out, we're getting closer to that age when everyone around us will be getting married. Its when we become of.....*gasp*...."marriageable age". Bleh. What an annoying phrase.

Anyway- it was great to attend it and see the love that was so obviously in abundance. There were several familiar faces (Uncle Kok Joo), and it was a pleasant surprise to have Mr. Lian (PKA's Family Camp 07) speak. It was bi-lingual between English and Cantonese and he talked about the Four Gives - Giving Out, Giving Up, Giving In and ForGiving.

Giving Out - Give diamonds to your wife...hehe...No, not only material things but of yourself.
Giving Up - Cant just simply hang out with the boys till late night.
Giving In - Hard as it is, sometimes just have to do so in an argument, swallow pride.
Forgiving - Even if its something repeated 200 times, still gotta forgive.

He also spoke about wives submitting to husbands, and husbands loving their wives. I liked it when he said something like, "David- if you don't love Chor Yan, who will? Trust me, there are plenty men out there who would love her. But by marrying her, you've cut all other options so if you don't love her, who will?" Hmmmmm....

This groom is also a romantic. He surprised Chor Yan by singing a song (that i cant remember the title now) and i've always wondered what the bride's supposed to do when that happens. Well, she sang along and they were in their own little bubble (amidst the other bubbles) of joy. I told Li Yee, next time, we must potong the groom- before he surprises her, she must surprise him.

Congratulations Chor Yan and David.

Oh my goodness. Stupid Kevin Ho's got me semi-addicted.
He first introduced me to this YouTube clip of a fantastic ventriloquist, Jeff-fa-fa Dunham. He's so good that its as if his puppet, isn't inanimate but is a real being and he's actually conversing with them. He has several characters, so far I've watched Peanut, Walter, Achmed and few others. Peanut is my fav. Seriously hilarious!

Some of the content is 'touchy' so have to watch it with an open mind. Only a ventriloquist can get away with the jokes he makes i think.

Jeff Dunham, check him out.

10 Things I Hate About You

Heath Ledger is dead.

Oh man...When i got the sms from Joshie i was disturbed for a good half an hour...Not that i was a super duper fan, but..Unsettling.

According to the report i read here, it says he "was found dead in a Manhattan apartment, face-down and naked at the foot of his bed with prescription sleeping pills nearby.

There was no obvious indication that the Australian-born Ledger had committed suicide, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said."

Suicide? I dunno...

Its just very sad news. He's young and has a 2year old daughter.

Its just sad.

Away

I've not gone online in a while, as my blog shows it. Well, a week to be exact.

Which is why i think there's no point in joining Facebook yet. I'll just wait till April.

No time to blog now even, as its too late and church is 7hours away and i've gotta get back to my room.

Malam Kung Fu was last night, and a bunch went in support of Koi Lik Wai @ Jethro. It started well, but the second half was so boring that Kevin fell asleep and was softly snoring next to me. i dont blame him. Jet did good, proud of him and see that his training paid off.

Happiness and sadness go hand in hand most of the time.

Sigh.

Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry alone.

Here came the bride...Again

This time Ah Tan @ Tracy Ng's big day, finally arrived.

I was pretty bushed cause i reached Pudu only around 3am and got an hour of sleep before going off to her place in Kepong early cause i was one of the chee mui's.

Turned out i was the earliest mui and got there even before the photographers.

*oops, i'm half in the pic*

She was bee-oo-tee-ful! I mean, which bride isn't hor?

Her dress was gorgeous on her- she chose a strapless corset-ish type dress that had a cascading skirt of whipped cream, soft and frothy, perfect on her small frame.

The groom, Ah Tok, had it relatively easy, although his heng tai's weren't that helpful. Strangely, he was so reluctant about singing to get in. He refused and even said he rather pay more ang-pow to be let in than sing...

After picking up the bride and the tea ceremony at her place, we all jumped in the car and went to his parents place in Sabak Bernam, which is a 2hour ride away. Yup, more travelling. 9 hours in total, Png-KL-Sabak B-KL.

The dinner was in Sunway Hotel, a Chinese restraunt there. It was nice sized crowd, 22tables of family and friends. The Ng's were our usual rambunctious selves and we only left after 12. As always, weddings are a good time for family catch-ups and this was no exception.

I'm so happy for my cousin, for the day to finally happen because they've been together for as long as i remember. Since their school days, 13years ago. Although the ceremony itself is just a formality(technically they registered last year), it is a celebration. They've been living in the UK and came back for it, and leaving tomorrow.

After attending two weddings in 2 weekends, there are things that i've noticed. About the brides, about the grooms. Things that will put my mind to work. Things that i'll be mulling over and once i've sorted my thoughts, i may blog about it.

Penang, i'll be seeing you tomorrow!

Wouldn't it be nice...

It would be nice to have someone that cares if I've arrived home or not.

Not a lover, but a loved one.

I see two friends that share this bond and i can't help but feel a slight twang of envy.

It would be nice.

I'm back in PJ for the weekend. Again. Why? Another wedding, this time my cousin's. I feel like what Jess wrote in her blog. Bleh.

But of course happy la, Ah Tan and Ah Tok have been dating forever (10years) and already living as man and wife, so this is just finally getting it over and done with.

The good thing is, I'll be able to try out Life Chapel's first Sunday trying out the new two service system.

8.15am baby! I can get my old pew back.

Here came the bride...

Dad: You think you're some big hot shot isit? Jetsetting all over the place...

Unknown to some, i was back in KL again (yup, 2days after Fireflyz-ing back to Penang) to attend a wedding in Klang. A SNGH member was finally getting married after a 4 year long engagement, and this wedding has gave me a LITTLE dream of one day getting married.

Li Yee, Kian Mei and I travelled down together to witness Choon Sheen tying the knot.

Beautiful bride being herself in glasses and not over-the-top make up. So nice to see...

Exchanging the age old vows...

Honestly, the groom was so super duper happy the whole morning, he had a ear to ear grin and anyone that saw him could feel the joy radiating from him.

Not only that, it was so romantic *sigh* He wrote a poem for her, which the Klang Methodist Youth turned into a song and sang for her.

Halfway through he went on stage and recited part of the poem for Choon Sheen and it was so bloody sweet, loving, romantic, grin-worthy, wah moment.

The USM supporters that went to the wedding.

We proceeded to V-garden, next to Hotel Histana (copy Vistana) for the 8 course meal lunch.

A great trip, worth the 9 hours of travelling.

CONGRATULATIONS !

On a separate issue, i wanna get this down before i forget.

A friend said a friend said that his friend (who is also my friend) said Getting a girlfriend is like buying a computer. Every guy will have their specs, and once they find a girl that fits the right specs, buy la.
And then, over time, specs change and get better. So means its time to buy a new computer.

Arghhhhhh!

You know who you are - you suck.
Cant even ask the waitress for a board game, how to get girlfriend?
