Road Trip : Destination Penang

I was looking forward to the getaway for the longest time.
What started as a suggestion 2months ago, became a 'mini'-reunion', and 16 of us Graduates of 2007/08 met up in Penang.

I don't know why I anticipated it so much, not to say i'm that bogged down with work but there is a bogging down-ness of sorts, and a road trip is just the cure I needed.

Since Abang Kindaichi only uses his new car to go work, home, home, work and One Utama, we thought its about time to test his baby, and what better way than to drive to Penang?

Troy looking at his baby during a pit stop.

Leaving early in the morning, we arrived in Ipoh by 8.30 to have a yummy breakfast. And we weren't disappointed. Jet took us to some place called Tasek and we makan at a typical coffee shop that serves Ipoh white coffee at reasonable prices.

Ipoh-ites Cheryl and Kian had never eaten in Tasek area before

We continued our journey and arrived in the familiar area of Sg. Dua and USM.
Ahhhh.. Its so good to be back.

8-6-5 kindly let us rest and freshen up before our food hunt

The rest of the day was spent driving around, stopping according to our whim and fancy.

Happinessssssss!

When I was first typing this entry, I had problems transferring the pics from my camera to my laptop. Therefore the best way to show you what a good time we had was using my great drawing skills...

=)

Yes, we did all that and more.

We girls (7 of us) stayed over at Bt. Feringghi and just when we were about to drift off to sleep, just when we were on the border of lala land, someone said something and suddenly all the girls were wide awake and gathered together on 2 joined beds.

Yup - girl talk to the max. But it was great. After several surprising updates and some follow up on previous matters, we finally called it a 'night' at 4.30am.

To get up again at 7am for church.

I love SNGH, I love the people of SNGH to be more exact. They welcomed us back, and it felt as if we never left - the warmth and sincerity. Sigh. Rindu gila. If only we had Li Yee with us it would be complete.

Alas, we had to leave by 5 but it was ok, cause we had dinner in Ipoh where we met up with Cikgu Tzyy Ling at Nam Kew, the bomb seafood and chicken wings.

Drool.... Seriously. Yummy kau kau.

What a wonderful weekend.
