Yeah I totally agree with you Shelb. That's why sometimes I feel it's better not to know someone too well. Knowing the good side of the person is all well and good. I think the scary part is when you see the bad side of the person. You are shocked. Not exactly beyond belief, but you are caught off guard by the person's behaviour you haven't seen before.
I had one experience before. The thing is, I didn't discover it for myself: it was relayed to me by another person. This shouldn't be surprising to me already, y'know, finding out that this person I know smokes (coz smoking is so common these days).
Maybe we are more surprised at the fact that the person could do such a thing (in my case, I didn't expect this guy to smoke, considering he is a Christian).
I guess it could also be that I think everyone in this world is nice. Now I've learned my lesson=D

Its scary getting to know the bad and ugly side of people. Especially when i think i know someone's character fairly well, and then WHAM! Stunned with the things a person would say that's totally not what it'd expect. Sigh.
