La la la la la...

Well, i went to try and join a choir today, under USM. Its for an inter-uni competition so it means i'll be traveling down to Putrajaya for the 5th of August. They said maybe we'll be staying either at UPM or UM ! What fun! So Mr. Beautiful, be there ya...

Anyway, to my uttermost surprise, the dude in charge says i'm an . . . . . . . .

alto!

It came unexpected cause all this while i've been a soprano for church choir. Could Jin Ai have been wrong all these years? And the dude didn't even make me do scales. Hmmmm...Makes me wonder.
But! No matter, cause its an experience and i've got my two buddies joining me as altos, Suria and Li Yee (yays!).

We'll be singing a medley of Jalur Gemilang, Setia and Keranamu.

Am really looking forward to it!

Voices. It is all very strange.

Look at me. I always expected to be a tenor, but I've been told I'm a bass instead!!

you're a soprano la. the dude just needs more altos so he chucked u there. guess what aliza is? i guessed her correctly so i think i'm right about u too. or i'm just blowing a horn.

but seriously.. the only way to know for sure is to get expert advice. or train. after some time, u'll find the most suitable range.

Yes, Shelby can sing and well at that too! :) Good to hear that your in your uni's choir. Hope u'll hv lotsa fun! Also, i agree with .c. Even speaking voices are hard to judge cause quite often people speak too low or too high (acc. to some book i read)...

A trainer thought i was pure soprano and when found out otherwise, he said it was because my speaking voice is high... o.O

Also, it seems that even after training for a long time, a soprano can discover she's an alto, etc etc. So it's really quite hard to tell... Could be that you have a really wide range, which you can thank God for! :)
