You are never...

Who knew that lessons could be drawn from a Zac Efron movie?

=p

To wrap up a refreshing weekend with some of my good buddies, we took up practically the whole row (8 of us) and had a great time giggling, squealing and gasping throughout the show.

There was one scene where we exclaimed, "Noooo...!" and we had to shhh ourselves.

Ironically, the movie was very apt because it pointed out something to one of my friends that we were trying to knock into his head the day before.

You can't try and test everything, you will always and forever have what if's, maybe's and if only, your whole life.

The basic plot of the movie is Mike at the age of 17 made the choice to forego his chances of a collage scholarship and marry his pregnant high school sweetheart. Instead of making the best of it, he lived the next 17 years in regret, blaming his wife and 'if only-ing' his life away...
He meets a magical janitor yadda yadda and he's back in time, thinking he can finally get his chance to change the course of his life - but! Watch it to find out...

I guess what happens to some people who don't realize (for some dense reason) is that no, you CAN'T go back in time. Like, d-u-h? And therefore don't have the luxury of hindsight, which is only ever useful for the future.

The thing with life is you have to make decisions and stick with it, whatever the outcome may be. Right or wrong. It gets harder the older we get simply because the issues that have to be decided on have greater consequences.

I know if I was 17 again, I wouldn't do some of the stupid things that I did.

I also know that, if I didn't do what I did then, I wouldn't know what I shouldn't do and would end up doing it anyway at some point of my life.

Watch the movie - its fun and Zac Efron is surprisingly alright in it. Exceeded my virtually non-existant expectations.

But makes me wonder how long he can pull off the whole - high school/basketball thing...
