Sam, Josh, Wyzek and Li Yee all came up to Penang for a visit/Makan Fest. To many things to mention, and no pictures so its best to just list small things that are relatable...
1. Joshua + Samuel = Horrible Driver & Co-Driver
- Joshua although 20years of age, still cant understand the concept of Right is <-- way, and Left is --> way (gettit?). So, although he was a superb map reader, when the crucial fork in the road comes along
JOsh: Make a right Sam..Right..RIGHT!
Poor Sam: I AM GOING RIGHT!
Josh:Oh...no..i mean left!
*car swerves left, narrowly avoiding divider to sounds of angry,honking,cursing Penangites*
- Samuel although also 20years has not yet mastered reading the time on a clock. He cannot tell the difference between 3,6 and 9 o'clock.
JOsh: Make a 9 at the round-a-bout
Ding Dong Sam: Okay... (Starts going into the inner lane and as he bypasses 9...)
JOsh: NINE O'CLOCK LA!
Ding Dong Sam : I am going to nine o'clock what......!
JOsh: No, thats 3 o'clock...
Ding Dong Sam: Oh...... *long pause where he tries to figure out how to save himself from the resounding laughter* I was picturing the clock, but i imagined it counter-clockwise....Anyway, i'm using a digital watch...
2. Peeing in the bushes is not easy at the beach
So, there we were on the beach along Tanjong Tokong, 2am, when Li Yee and Joshua need to pee REALLY badly. They tried going into the hotel, but the gate was locked. We then walked along trying to look for bushes. Kinds dumb since beaches dont have bushes...
We saw this spot, where it was dark and surrounded with 'bush' and i said, okay go pee there, no one will see... First problem was, JOshua was afraid that he might pee on a sleeping creature hidden in the leaves and it would jump out and bite his Precious...When Li Yee was about to try, and i comforted her saying no one would see since its pitch black, a car pulls round the corner and onto the beach, headlights on full power totally lighting up where we were...So that idea was out....
JOsh: Well, you can take off your pants and walk along the water and let the pee just run down your leg, no one can see anyway.
Shel: We all could just squat and look like its a normal thing to squat and talk, then you pee...No one will suspect...
In the end, sadly, we found a hotel not locked. Dang! I would've wanted to see what they were willing to do in desperation.
3. Its quite dumb to argue with a dentist
My latest embarrassing moment...Remember i said i have a hole in my tooth? So, while the others were checking out ChowRasta and Khoo Kong Si temple, i got dropped off at a dentist along Lorong Selamat. I go into the empty place, fill in my details and sit in the Chair of Doom. I tell the very Cina-speaking dentist, i've got a hole in the left back tooth, on the inside.
With the bright light in my eyes, i see him use the small sickle and start poking around my tooth.
Dentist: There is no hole...
Shelby: YEs, there's a hole! Its there, the back part, i can feel it.
*pokes into my mouth again, feeling, pulling...*
Dentist: No hole...
Shelby: Are you sure? (Duh! He's the dentist, not you!) I know there's a hole....!
Dentist: No, no hole, but got rock
He then explains that there was sonething lodged between the teeth, and plaque had built up on it forming xzfjrtw rock (dentist jargon,dunno what he called it). He then says, all thats needed is scaling.
*shy*
So, it wasnt a hole after all....I felt so malu when i can actually argue with him about it...
Alot more, but those were just some ROFL moments.
Funny, nobody asked or wondered why i have only 24hours here in KL.
Either everyone knows or nobody realised.
Tomorrow i'm going off for Camp Cameron, an inter-varsity 3week camp.
I doubt there's internet connection there, and so it'll be a while till i get to blog.
And i heard that the phone line there very bad, so bad that you have to stand still at one spot, move a little and you'll get cut-off.
So, because of this, please, PLEASE write to me... I will really appreciate it and everyone else will be so jealous of me. Put ur return add so i can reply!

First thing first, I doubt you will be able to see this before the 3 weeks over but still wanna say it nonetheless - I DID ask you about why you have only 24hours in KL, remember? :-P
Okay...I was like going through your latest entry and gosh, ROFL...LMAO...it's too funny! What's that with all those sick suggestions to pee unnoticedly?
